2009 Fall New England Go-Do 9x9 Tournament at Main Street Martial Arts Sunday, November 8, 2009: 12:00PM-3:00PM: Check-in at 11:30AM Our Fall Go Tournament will be a “for-fun” tournament with both experienced and beginning players of all ages from all over the New England region. We will have a $20.00 entrance fee to cover the cost of pizza for everyone as well as sponsoring a joint fundraiser with the Kids’ Action League of Martial Artists and the American Go Foundation. Any additional donations will be split with KALOMA and the AGF and would be greatly appreciated.
Go is a 4,000-year-old game from Ancient China. You can learn how to play the game in about one hour of explanation and practic e, but there is no limit to your level of skill as you learn to utilize and develop the power and intuition of the human mind and spirit. Learn why this four-millennia-old game has captured the imagination of the greatest emperors, generals, and scholars through-out time. And learn to master the strategies of surrounding, connecting, defending, and attacking while you dance between your emotions of ambition vs. security, aggression vs. respect, and urgency vs. calmness. Come join us for a fun-filled day of Go and great people while we compete and play in this timeless ancient game. Your tournament registration fee will support our scholarship programs for urban families. There will be fun prizes for all participants and American Express Gift Card prizes ranging from $30-$50 for the top-place finishers in each division. Take Highway 95 North from Warwick, Cranston.
